The Madisonville community is reeling from shock after the arrest of a firefighter, identified as 46-year-old Henry Winston Strader, from the Madisonville Fire Department. Strader was taken into custody on January 12, facing a series of charges that have sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community.
The arrest stems from an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation conducted by Kentucky State Police. Strader faces misdemeanor charges of official misconduct and distribution of obscene matter to minors. In addition, he is confronted with 10 felony counts of "procuring a minor by electronic means" and one felony count of "possession of matter portraying the sex performance by a minor."
Kentucky State Police revealed that the investigation led to search warrants executed at two separate locations in Madisonville. Authorities seized equipment believed to have been used to facilitate the alleged crimes, which will undergo thorough examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Upon reaching out to the Madisonville Fire Chief for additional information, 44News received a referral to the Kentucky State Police, with a firm "no comment" on Strader's current employment status. Subsequently, inquiries with the City of Madisonville disclosed that Strader has been suspended from the Madisonville Fire Department without pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.
As the community grapples with this disconcerting revelation, Strader remains in custody at the Hopkins County Jail, held on a $10,000 bond. The situation is fluid, and residents are left anxiously awaiting further developments in this distressing episode that has cast a shadow over the integrity of a local public servant.
This story will be closely monitored, with updates provided as more information becomes available.
