Our Traffic Unit continues to investigate after a pedestrian was struck and killed earlier this morning in the southeast community of Forest Heights.   At approximately 12:20 a.m., today, Saturday, May 18, 2024, a man in his 70s was walking northbound along 47 Street S.E. in a marked crosswalk, crossing Memorial Drive S.E.   At the same time, an SUV was travelling eastbound along Memorial Drive S.E. approaching 47 Street S.E., and struck the man, who was ultimately declared deceased at the scene.   The driver fled prior to police arrival and continued travelling eastbound before abandoning the vehicle. Police located the vehicle a short time later and are continuing to search for the driver.    Excessive speed is being investigated as a factor in this collision.

A lockdown has ended at Berrien County High School after the all clear was given following a search, according to Nashville City manager Hayden Hancock. Stabbing Incident in Willows Willows, CA – Glenn County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the city limits of Willows early Thursday morning, May 16, 2024, at 2:49 a.m. for the report of a stabbing. Deputies found a 20-year-old female with a stab wound to the chest. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the woman to an area hospital where she is being treated for major injuries. The initial investigation resulted in two alleged suspects. Deputies made contact with both alleged suspects Thursday morning. Following questioning, one suspect, 20-year-old Ramiro Robles Gomez, was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Glenn County Jail. This investigation is on-going. A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Lanarkshire. Around 8.20am on Thursday, 9 May, 2024, officers were called to a report of a man being found seriously injured at a property in Shiel Gardens, Shotts. Emergency services attended and 24-year-old John Cairns was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.

Initial reports: 1:14 PM OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM FPD: "FLAGSTAFF, Az. – May 15th, 2024 at approximately 11:15 am a report of shots fired was received by Flagstaff Police in the area of Bushmaster Park, 3150 N Alta Vista Dr.  Witnesses in the area described the individual shooting the handgun as a slim build Native American male approximately 20-30 years old wearing all black and possibly having a tattoo on his arms. No injuries were reported at Bushmaster Park. Law enforcement personnel are actively following up on leads and searching for the individual who was reported to have fled in a north to west direction from Bushmaster Park after the shooting.  The subject is considered armed at this time.  More information will follow as this incident is active and evolving. Police have apprehended two high range drink drivers following two separate collisions in Melbourne’s southeast yesterday. Casey Highway Patrol officers first attended a collision at the intersection of South Gippsland Highway and Evans Road in Lynbrook. It is understood a Land Rover Evoque collided with a stationary Nissan Pathfinder, about 12pm. The probationary driver of the Evoque, a 48-year-old Cranbourne North man, returned a positive preliminary breath test before an evidentiary breath test return of .300. His licence was immediately suspended for a period 12 months and he will be summonsed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court at a later date. Several hours later, Casey Highway Patrol officers were again called to another crash at the intersection of Glasscocks Road and William Thwaites Boulevard in Cranbourne North. Police can confirm one person has died following a serious crash in Russell this morning Emergency services responded to the crash, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Russell Whakapara Road, around 10.35am. Sadly, the pedestrian received critical injuries and died at the scene. Police extend our condolences to their friends and family at this difficult time. The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing.

Don motorists...  Police are at the scene of a two vehicle crash on the Bass Highway at Don, heading towards Ulverstone.  The left-hand lane is currently blocked.  Motorists are asked to avoid the area or anticipate delays until the scene is cleared.  At this stage no injuries have been reported.

Yorba Linda area they have the streets completely blocked off the store nearest to the incident.  It looks like swat and other officers from different agencies are gearing up and coming up with a plan.  UPDATE: Wife got out and the husband is still inside the home drunk along with his firearms and he is threatening to kill himself

Oneonta City Schools went into emergency procedures at 12:54 on May 14 due to police activity in front of the school.   This activity has concluded and lockdown has been lifted.   All students and staff are safe.  We would like to thank the Oneonta Police Department for all they do to ensure the safety of our school!

UPDATE: A heavy law enforcement presence at Immanuel High School in Reedley on Tuesday morning was all due to a hoax.  The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team determined the device was made to look like a real pipe bomb but did not contain any explosives. Following the discovery of further suspicious substances in Hyde Road, Caddington, we can confirm we are working with SO15, the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Command, which has taken over the investigation. One man in his 30s from Caddington was arrested on Monday 6 May and later bailed. He has today (Tuesday) been re-arrested on suspicion of possession of an item of use to a terrorist, under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. We have also worked closely with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) partners who carried out a controlled explosion on the site last week. We are committed to keeping the public of Caddington safe and will be maintaining a police presence at the scene as well as continuing high-visibility patrols and community engagement in the area.  Please be reassured there is not believed to be any risk to local residents or the wider public at this time.
