Breaking: Notorious Australian, cop Roger Rogerson on verge of death

In a dramatic turn of events, the notorious former police officer Roger Rogerson is reportedly on the verge of death after his life support was turned off in Sydney’s Prince of Wales Hospital. The 83-year-old, who gained infamy for his crooked dealings and was convicted of murder, is now reaching the end of a tumultuous life that was once intertwined with high-profile criminal cases and ultimately marked by a fall from grace.

Sources revealed to the Daily Telegraph that Rogerson had been transferred from jail to the hospital, where the decision was made to switch off his life support. Corrective Services NSW declined to comment, but news.com.au independently confirmed Rogerson's hospitalization and critical condition.

Roger Rogerson's life story is one of stark contrasts. A former detective sergeant, he was once a prominent figure in law enforcement, contributing to major cases such as the Toecutter Gang Murder and aiding the investigation of the Whiskey Au Go Go Fire in Queensland. However, his career took a dark turn, leading to his portrayal by actor Richard Roxburgh in TV shows like "Blue Murder" and its sequel "Blue Murder: Killer Cop."

The nadir of Rogerson's life came with his conviction for the murder of Jamie Gao in 2016. Alongside Glen McNamara, Rogerson was found guilty of murdering the 20-year-old in connection to a dubious drug deal, where they were accused of stealing a substantial quantity of the drug ice from Gao. The young man was shot dead in a Padstow storage unit, and his body was later discarded in the ocean.

Sentenced to life in prison, Rogerson and McNamara attempted to overturn their convictions in 2021 but were unsuccessful in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal. The trial had exposed a web of deception and finger-pointing between the two convicted men, further cementing the public image of Rogerson as a corrupt and unscrupulous figure.

Rogerson's impending demise marks the end of an era dominated by a figure whose career was marked by both commendable contributions to law enforcement and a descent into criminality. As the curtain falls on Roger Rogerson's life, it prompts reflection on the complexities of justice, the allure of notoriety, and the inevitable consequences that accompany a life spent straddling the thin line between law and lawlessness.

The student was interviewed by officers who found the statements made not to be an actual threat to the school or any other students. As soon as it was determined that there was no threat, the school issued a notice that it was no longer on lockdown status. “We want to thank the school officia...
