Overall, a solid jobs report for the U.S. labor market.
Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 216,000 in December, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.7 percent.
But the number of new jobs for October and November were revised down.
Employers added 216,000 jobs in December, the Labor Department said in its monthly payroll report released Friday. That was slightly above the 170,000 jobs forecast by Refinitiv economists.
