Incident (Frisco) Frisco PD responded to reports of shots fired at Stonebriar Mall earlier this evening; however, officers determined NO shots were fired.
Police confirm there was a fight involving juveniles that had a large audience, which caused a disturbance.
Eyewitnesses said:
"My daughter and I were there and it was complete chaos .. we were running for our lives. So many people running. I was terrified"
"I was there. Terrifying. ShelbyLynn Warren all I heard was screaming and saw people running. It’s sad we can’t enjoy just being out in public anymore."
"I was there, I did hear a “bang” but it sounded more like something being knocked over and hitting the ground like maybe a sign of something. Definitely not a sound like a gun shot. But during all the commotion and with high adrenaline seeing everyone run by you I can see how your mind might fill in the gaps for survival. Better safe than sorry."
"The large groups of juveniles fighting every weekend is getting old. It’s happening everywhere. Parents need to step up."
"French-No shots fired. My husband & I were here when it happened. A security guard told us 3 girls jumped 2 other girls."
"Tonight I took 6 girls to Stonebriar Mall to celebrate my daughters birthday. As we were headed out I noticed a few teenagers running towards the exit doors. Then I realized they were sprinting. I thought maybe they were playing around or were in trouble. Then I turn and look behind me and everyone is running towards us and the doors and we hear “There is a shooter. Run!!” So we did. So many things ran through my mind as I was counting heads and we were running out the doors and into the parking lot. We really had no idea what was happening but at that point we wanted to be as far away as possible. It’s now been confirmed that there was not a shooting but was a fight that had broken out. I am so so thankful it wasn’t worse but man I am so sad that it seems like this has become the new normal. New normal for me but just normal for our kids. Ughhh…it shook us up for a while but we are good now. Still my heart is heavy. ππ₯"
"There is an incident that is being wrapped up as I type this. While my daughter and her boyfriend were at Stonebriar Mall. A fight broke out and people were saying they heard gunshots. Turned out there were NO gunshots.
The reason for my post is to first say thank you Jesus for having people around to keep my girl and her friend safe. Second to say thank you Spencer’s employees for pulling them into the back and making sure they were safe.
My daughter wanted me to update this post. They were just at the front of Spencer’s by the door.
