Breaking: Reports of active shooter in Brooklyn Park

Brooklyn Park police reportedly have an active shooter situation going on.

Reportedly one dead.

Near 74th and Zane Ave N

A major police response is currently underway in Brooklyn Park, where there have been reports of shots fired.

Update: BROOKLYN PARK: Large law enforcement response to the area of 73rd Ave. & Zane Ave. N. after multiple reports of shots fired.

At this time, one deceased victim has been located and officers have been hearing additional shots fired.

The suspect is believed to be barricaded in an apartment in the 5800 block of 74th Ave.

Multiple agencies are responding to assist with the situation.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or mixed-race male, around 5'10" with a stocky build, wearing a black jacket and a black mask. Call 911 if you have any information.

A State Patrol flight team was overhead assisting as of 2:40 p.m. - Officers have contained the initial shooting scene.

Police are working to evacuate residents and MTC buses were requested to shelter evacuees while the situation remains active.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
