Breaking:Reports of active shooter at McEachern High School

Multiple Reports of active shooter at McEachern High School are coming in.

Initial reports said there was a fight in the parking lot and it escalated.

Reports we are getting said officers came ready for anything.

The shooter is belived to be Black male 16-20 black sweats with a black Nike hoodie.

They're clearing each building now.

Cobb Police, Cobb Sheriff's Office and Powder Springs Police.

A student got a video of the suspect holding a handgun with an extended magazine.

UPDATE: Police confirm that 2 people who are not current McEachern students were shot in the parking lot of campus with non-life-threatening injuries. The school is under a Code Red.

Students and staff at McEachern High School are being told to shelter in place as authorities work to remove an armed person from campus.

The Cobb County Police Department released the following statement:

We are responding to McEachern High School to assist campus police. There is a shelter in place and all traffic on New Macland Road has been diverted and closed until further notice.

Media staging area will be 3732 MacLand Road at MacLand Baptist Church.

McEachern High School Parents: The Reunification Location will be The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2595 New Macland Road. Please travel from Richard D Sailors Pwky as New Macland Road will be closed at Macland Road.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
