Multiple people shot near Union Station in Kansas City, MO.

Police say 'multiple people' struck by gunfire near Chiefs parade, 2 people taken into custody.

"Shots were fired west of Union Station near the garage and multiple people were struck. We took two armed people into custody for more investigation."

"Anyone nearby needs to leave the area as quickly and safely as possible to facilitate treatment of the shooting victims. Please avoid the Union Station parking garage area to allow first responders through."

Initial unofficial reports said 4 people shot, one killed. 

A eyewitness said "Yes. We were up inside 2345 Grand watching the rally following the parade. Saw hundreds of cops rushing to Union Station. Snipers stationed on buildings before during and after activities with lots of drones and helicopters. Law enforcement is doing a good job. People exiting well."

1 person has died, and at least 9 people hurt in shooting in Downtown KC. KCPD have 3 people in custody.

Governor Laura Kelly Statement on Today's shooting near Union station.

"At the end of the Chiefs rally, shots were fired near Union Station. I have been evacuated and am out of harm's way. I encourage everyone to follow instructions and updates from @kcpolice. Please stay safe."

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
