Tuberville backs up Trump at Supreme Court, says Democrats ‘against the American people’
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) held a press conference with Senators Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-KS) and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) announcing that they had filed an amicus brief in support of Donald Trump as his case was heard before the Supreme Court on Thursday over Colorado's attempt to kick him off the 2024 ballot.
“We’re here to stand for the right to vote for the candidate of our choice," Tuberville said. "This should not be a partisan issue."
“They’re using legal theory that has never been used before,” Tuberville (R-Auburn) said. It goes way beyond the Constitution. It twists the words of our Constitution into something that is never been.”
“Democrats like to talk about democracy,” he argued, “but Democrats are desperately trying to stop the American people from deciding who will be our next President. They couldn’t care less about our Constitution. They couldn’t care less about the will of the people. They couldn’t care less about our courts.”
“This court must uphold the original public meaning of our Constitution,” he continued. “Stop today this attack on our democracy. Let the American people decide in November who their leaders will be.”
