Military aircraft have investigated the balloon and determined it is not a threat. However, they are continuing to track its movements.
UNIDENTIFIED BALLOON TRAVELS OVER U.S
NORAD has tracked an unidentified balloon from Colorado, now heading towards Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Assurances have been made that the balloon, detected at altitudes up to 45,000 feet, poses no threat to national security or aviation safety.
Officials claim this balloon is not from foreign adversaries, unlike the previous Chinese spy balloons.
The balloon, floating over Western states between 43,000 and 45,000 feet, was investigated by NORAD fighters over Utah and deemed harmless.
The U.S. is extra sensitive to aerial objects following last year's tension with China over a spy balloon incident.
