Just to summarize - Why some want The 25th Amendment to be invoked: On Wednesday President Biden mistakenly confused former German Chancellors Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl while recounting an anecdote at campaign events.
NOTE: At the two campaign receptions in New York City on Wednesday, Biden told the crowd that in 2021 he spoke with European leaders at a G7 meeting about the Jan. 6 Capitol protests during his first foreign trip as President.
"And then Helmut Kohl turned to me and said, 'What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the London Times and learned that 1,000 people had broken down the doors of the British parliament, killed some bobbies on the way in, to deny the prime minister to take office," Biden said, according to a White House pool report.
It was a great story. The only problem was that
Helmut Kohl passed away on June 16, 2017. He was no longer Chancellor of Germany and he was not alive. The Chancellor then was Angela Merkel.
NOTE: That was not all. Days earlier, Biden confused French President Emmanuel Macron with former French President François Mitterrand
at a campaign rally in Las Vegas on Sunday. The only problem was François Mitterrand, the former President of France, died on January 8, 1996.
NOTE: Remember, those two gaffes happened on Sunday and then on Wednesday, two days ago.
NOTE: In his report released yesterday, Special Counsel Robert Hur said he interviewed Biden during his investigation into mishandling classified documents going back when he was Vice President and a Senator but added that Biden could not remember when he was Vice President between 2009 and 2017.
NOTE: The Special Counsel also said his team took into consideration that Biden is an elderly man with a “poor memory.”
NOTE: Many people are now saying President Biden is no longer fit to be President of the United States and maybe the 25th Amendment should be invoked.
