Active shooter causes panic at Timber Creek High School, Florida

Timber Creek High School families:

Out of an abundance of caution, we remain on a LOCKDOWN while law enforcement continues their search. All students and staff are safe. During this time nobody will be allowed on or off campus, please avoid the area around the school. There is a dedicated area for parents to congregate and receive updates from law enforcement at Tanja King Memorial Park. We will provide you with another update once we have additional information.

Timber Creek High School families,

The lockdown has been lifted and students are being released from classrooms to get lunch. We want to thank the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for their quick and thorough response. The investigation has concluded and the report of the suspicious person was unfounded. All students and staff remained safe throughout the search. We want to thank them for their cooperation and patience.

If you need to sign your child out of school, please follow the standard release procedures. We appreciate the support we received as we worked to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession. The student was interviewed by officers who found the statements made not to be an actual threat to the school or any other students.
