Upper Parliament Street in Nottingham was closed by police due to a road traffic collision. Emergency services were called to the street's junction with Market Street shortly after 6pm this evening (Tuesday, March 3).
The city centre street was closed at the Royal Centre tram crossing, but the road later reopened at around 7.15pm. Due to the incident, trams were unable to operate between Old Market Square and the Royal Centre.
Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were both in attendance. People were asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes for their journeys.
In a post on X, NET Nottingham Tram shared: "Service update 18:16 Due to a road traffic collision, we have no service between Old Market Square and Royal Centre. Further updates to follow."
A spokesperson for the tram service later confirmed that the incident involved a collision between a pedestrian and a tram. All services have since returned to normal.
