The lockout for our school buildings has been lifted by Lake County Police Department. Calumet High School will now begin dismissal. Lake Ridge Middle School and Longfellow Elementary School buses will be delayed by about 30 minutes past the usual drop-off time. We thank you for your understanding.

Multiple reports are coming in about an active shooter that forced the closure of the Lake Ridge School, Indiana.The school released the following update about the incident:
"Dear Parents & Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of an urgent situation that has arisen near the school community. Due to a criminal activity incident nearby, all school buildings are being placed under a temporary lockout. No one is being allowed in our out of the school buildings.
The safety and security of our students and staff are our utmost priority, and as a precautionary measure, we are taking this action to ensure everyone remains safe until the situation is fully resolved.
Please rest assured that all necessary steps are being taken in coordination with Lake County Police Department to address the situation. We will provide updates as soon as we have more information and when it is safe to resume normal activities. We will begin dismissing high school students as soon as we receive clearance from Lake County Police Department. Therefore, all buses may be delayed for drop off. We also ask that all pick-ups understand that dismissal will not take place until this time as well.
During this time, we kindly ask that you avoid coming to the school premises until further notice. We understand that this may cause inconvenience, but the safety of our community is paramount.
