Developing: Reports of Active shooter at Proctor high School

There are multiple reports of active shooter at Proctor high School.

Officers can be seen armed with assault rifle on each corner. With all the different departments, it's definitely a real situation.

An eyewitness said "Active shooter at Proctor high School what I could see (and I know there's more) at least 35 squad cars trooper sheriff hermantown Proctor dpd everybody is at the high school. Good time to rob a bank 🤷"

So far no reports of shots fired and no one is hurt.

Media Release: Police respond to reported incident on The Strand

GALVESTON, Texas (March 13, 2024) – At approximately 4:10 p.m. March 13, Galveston police responded to reports of a man on the roof of a building with what appeared to be a firearm, in the 2200 block of The Strand.

Multiple police units quickly responded to the location and cleared the block to ensure the safety of visitors in the area.

At this time Galveston police have one person in custody that has been transported to The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for medical evaluation.

While it has been reported that shots were fired, police have found no evidence of shots fired, and no firearm has been recovered. There is also no evidence that this was associated with any robbery attempt.

This remains an active investigation. While visitors on The Strand may still notice a police presence in the area, as the investigation is ongoing, the department finds no threat to the public at this time.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
