Early morning Pine Bluff shooting leaves one dead

According to a post on their Facebook page, the Pine Bluff Police Department say that they responded to a shooting incident in the early hours of Thursday morning.

At 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to 27th and Ash after gunshots were reported.

The post says that shortly afterwards, police received a second call saying that a person had been shot at 2702 S. Ash.

Officers moved to the scene and discovered 43-year-old Willy Purifoy inside the building. He was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. The post says that the Jefferson County Coroner later pronounced Purifoy dead at the scene.

Police say that as of this time, no one has been arrested in connection to the homicide.
