On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, around 2:40 PM, Monroe Police responded to a home on E. Talleyrand Ave. for an assault. Investigators learned it was actually a robbery. The victim was robbed and assaulted while entering her home. During this robbery, the victim was assaulted and burned. A two year old child was also burned and suffered second degree burns to his face and head.
The suspect is described as a younger black male with no facial hair. He was wearing a red shirt with stripes and a black head wrap. He left on foot after the robbery.
The adult victim was transported to the hospital and treated. The child victim was airlifted to Atrium Main and is in stable condition.
