Breaking: Man shot in neck in what police say is latest road rage incident in San Antonio

In the early hours of the morning, a road rage incident turned violent in San Antonio, leaving a 21-year-old man critically injured after being shot in the neck. The incident, which occurred on West Military Drive near Old Pearsall Road, marks yet another alarming escalation of road rage in the city.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the shooting took place just after 1 a.m. Police were alerted to the scene in the 4700 block of West Military Drive following reports of gunfire. The victim, riding in the back seat of a truck with two other individuals, became the target of the attack when a lifted black pick-up truck pulled alongside them.

Details surrounding the origins of the altercation remain unclear, as police are still piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the shooting. Witnesses recounted that the suspect's vehicle engaged with the victim's truck in what appeared to be a confrontation fueled by road rage. Without warning, someone from the black truck brandished a firearm and began firing at the victim's truck, ultimately striking the 21-year-old man in the neck.

Despite the gravity of the situation, the quick thinking of those in the victim's truck potentially saved his life. After the shooting, the driver promptly navigated to a nearby store on West Military Drive, where they urgently summoned assistance.

Fortunately, the driver and another passenger in the victim's truck escaped physical harm. However, the victim's condition remains critical, underscoring the devastating consequences of road rage incidents.

In the wake of the shooting, law enforcement authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward. Descriptions of the suspect's vehicle, characterized as a black truck with modifications, have been provided to aid in the ongoing investigation.

As the investigation unfolds, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by aggressive driving behaviors. Road rage, often fueled by frustration and impatience, can escalate rapidly, resulting in tragic outcomes. Authorities emphasize the importance of maintaining composure and restraint while behind the wheel, as acts of aggression on the road can have life-altering consequences.

This is a developing story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The student was interviewed by officers who found the statements made not to be an actual threat to the school or any other students. As soon as it was determined that there was no threat, the school issued a notice that it was no longer on lockdown status. “We want to thank the school officia...
