Developing: "Active law enforcement incident" at Woodbury Target store, Minnesota leads to shelter-in-place order

A sense of unease descended upon the Twin Cities on Monday morning as reports emerged of a heightened police presence outside a Target store in Woodbury, Minnesota.

Police declined to say anything about the incident.

Police encountered a WM with a gun in a vehicle and aired they were fighting with him.

SWAT was deployed and a standoff ensued as the male was reported to be non-compliant.

Target on Valley Creek, which was told to lockdown.

Original response was for a vehicle connected to credit card fraud.

The event moved to an encrypted channel about 10 a.m.




South Washington County school released the following statement about the incident:

"SoWashCo Schools is aware of the “Shelter in Place” alert sent out by Washington County concerning police activity happening around Valley Creek Plaza. We are in constant communication with authorities to ensure safety at all times at all of our buildings. All Woodbury schools are safe and there is no threat to students or staff at this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the principal."

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat
