Cameron residents have been asked to please be aware there is an active shooter in the area.
Police are looking for the individual.
Take precautions, lock you doors, let your relatives know.
Navajo police department released update about the incident as follows:
"CAMERON, Ariz. - The Navajo Police Department is asking the Cameron, Ariz. community, near and around the Cameron Chapter House and LDS Church to shelter-in-place, for a police emergency.
There is heavy law enforcement presence in the area working to resolve the issue.
Community members are urged to report anything suspicious to the NPD Tuba City District at (928) 283-3111/3112.
Further info will be given once it is made available. Thank you for your cooperation."
Additional unofficial reports said the shooter had already shot 2 people.

"The Navajo Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in today’s shooting incident in Cameron, Ariz.
The person of interest is 44-year-old, Derick Myron. Myron is described as 5’10,” slender build, black hair, and brown eyes. He is possibly driving a black 2017 Ford dually pickup truck, crew cab, with a work rack, The truck has a New Mexico license plate #RFW880.
Myron is considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS. Do not approach him if you come in contact with him.
Anyone with information about the possible location of Derick Myron or the described vehicle, contact the Navajo Police Department or other local law enforcement.
The shelter-in-place in the Cameron area has been lifted, however, there will continue to be a heavy law enforcement presence in the area.
