#Developing: Greenbelt Police are responding to a shooting on Hanover Parkway in Prince George's County, #Maryland

Five young adults were shot in the area of Schrom Park in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Police responded to the area of 6925 Hanover Parkway. According to police, five young adults were shot, all boys, following a large gathering of young adults for senior skip day.

According to police, 500 to 600 seniors gathered for a large water gun fight. Bowie police arrived on the scene and dispersed the large group. Police say they reconvened at Schrom Park, promoting more officers to the scene.

Police say before 4 p.m., shots were fired leaving five boys suffering from gunshot injuries. Three eighteen-year-olds and two minors, according to police. The condition of the victims is unknown at this time.

According to police, the gathering started in Bowie.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
