Fatal single vehicle accident in Milam County under investigation by Texas DPS

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Milam County, Texas, was shaken by a fatal crash that claimed the life of 24-year-old Alejandro Perez-Balderas. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently conducting an investigation into the incident, which occurred late Thursday night near CR 464.

According to reports from Texas DPS troopers, the crash involved a single vehicle—a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck—driven by Perez-Balderas, a resident of Rockdale. Initial findings suggest that speed played a significant role, with the vehicle reportedly traveling at an unsafe velocity.

As the Ford approached a bridge near Bushy Creek, tragedy struck. The vehicle veered off the roadway, colliding with the bridge structure before careening down the embankment. The force of the impact caused the truck to overturn and come to rest upside down in the water below.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, but the outcome was devastating. Alejandro Perez-Balderas was discovered inside the submerged vehicle and, tragically, was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Gary Northcott.

The loss of a young life in such a sudden and tragic manner has sent shockwaves through the community of Milam County. As loved ones grapple with the reality of this heartbreaking event, the investigation into the crash continues.

Texas DPS remains committed to uncovering the full details surrounding the incident, providing answers to grieving family members, and ensuring that justice is served. Meanwhile, the community is left to mourn the untimely passing of a cherished member, taken far too soon.

In times of such profound loss, it is essential to come together in support and solidarity. As Milam County mourns the loss of Alejandro Perez-Balderas, may the memories of his life bring solace to those who knew and loved him. And may his tragic passing serve as a reminder to all of the importance of caution and responsibility behind the wheel, as we strive to prevent further tragedies on our roads.
