Road rage incident in South Bend ends with car flipped over

A case of road rage ended with a car landing upside down in a school parking lot on Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called just before 2 p.m. to a rollover crash just outside of Madison STEAM Academy.

The driver of the overturned car apparently became angry and chased the driver of another car for going out of turn at a four-way stop.

Both cars ended up in a parking lot off Lafayette Boulevard, where the enraged driver repeatedly and purposely used his vehicle to run into the other before it overturned.

The incident was witnessed by some students who were playing in a nearby soccer field at the time.

The driver of the overturned car was taken to the hospital. The driver of the other car picked up his daughter at the school.

There’s no word on any charges at this time.

Diamond View Briefly Locked Down While Police Investigate Threat

There were some scary moments Wednesday morning for Diamond View School students, staff and parents, after the Susanville Police Department received a report of a student who may have brought a firearm to school’s campus, which was immediately placed on a ‘lockdown status.’ “Officers arrived and met with the school principal, who identified the student,” explains Interim Chief of Police Michael Bengoa-Bollinger. “It was learned no gun was ever observed, and it was a ‘statement’ that had been overheard by the reporting students while on the bus to school this morning.” School officials and officers contacted the student away from the other children and found no firearm in the student’s possession.
