Woman shot five times in Travis County road rage incident, records show

A routine trip to the tire shop turned into a harrowing ordeal for Kamiah Mathews and her girlfriend, Dierra Liggins, as they found themselves caught in the midst of a terrifying road rage incident near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. What started as a simple drive quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation, leaving Mathews wounded and shaken.

According to county records, the incident unfolded last week when Mathews and Liggins were en route to a tire shop to address a flat tire. As they traveled along FM 973, their path intersected with that of Michael Rivera, a 25-year-old man now facing aggravated assault charges in connection with the shooting.
