Update: 22-year-old Randon D. Key, Jr arrested and one person remains at-large after a shooting at Glenbrook Square Mall in in Fort Wayne. Two people have been transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
We are getting multiple reports of active shooter at Glenbrook Mall.
Initial reports said paramedics and police are on the scene.
The shooting occurred just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
Some people at the mall give eyewitness accounts thus:
"Were hiding in the back of a store is it really safe to come out?"
"My son was getting a haircut when the shots went off. It was so loud. It happened near the trampoline and pacsun. There were shell casings on the floor there. My husband and a few other men went to check to see if anyone was injured. All I could think of was getting our kids outside. Terrifying"
Another eyewitness said. "We were walking out of pacsun and all of a sudden heard 6-8 rounds go off. Felt like it was right in front of us. Extremely loud"
"I was there in line at Hot Topic. Heard what sounded almost like fireworks then realized that wasn't the case when everyone started running out the back door as I did."
Additional reports said that Fort Wayne Police Department announced Saturday afternoon that Glenbrook Square Mall has been closed, and people were asked to avoid the area.
What led to the closing was not immediately known, but reports on social media and news media said a shooting happened.
