Police have apprehended two high range drink drivers following two separate collisions in Melbourne’s southeast yesterday.
Casey Highway Patrol officers first attended a collision at the intersection of South Gippsland Highway and Evans Road in Lynbrook.
It is understood a Land Rover Evoque collided with a stationary Nissan Pathfinder, about 12pm.
The probationary driver of the Evoque, a 48-year-old Cranbourne North man, returned a positive preliminary breath test before an evidentiary breath test return of .300.
His licence was immediately suspended for a period 12 months and he will be summonsed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
Several hours later, Casey Highway Patrol officers were again called to another crash at the intersection of Glasscocks Road and William Thwaites Boulevard in Cranbourne North.
It is understood the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder was attempting to leave a recreational reserve carpark when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a sign.
The 42-year-old driver from Narre Warren South returned a positive preliminary breath test before an evidentiary breath test return of .337.
His vehicle was impounded, licence immediately suspended for a period 12 months, and he will be summonsed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
