Western Australia Police are currently responding to an incident at Carousel Shopping Centre in Cannington

Update: About 3:30pm, police received a number of reports in relation to an incident at Carousel Shopping Centre.


Two males were involved in a physical altercation. One of the males was armed with a knife. 


A 20-year-old male received a slash wound injury to his face. 


The knife has been secured at the scene.


Inquiries remain ongoing to locate the other male. 


There is no ongoing threat to the public or further cause for alarm. 


A number of police resources remain at the scene.

WA Police are currently responding to an incident at Carousel Shopping Centre in Cannington.


A number of Police resources have been deployed to the scene as we work to ascertain what has transpired.


We ask anyone in the shopping centre to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious behaviour.


We urge the public to stay away from the area until more is known. 


Further information will be provided as soon as it comes to hand.


Additional reports said it is a knife attack. Investigation is ongoing...

"The group of kids is still running around the centre and the Westfield staff are yelling at staff inside their stores to re-open their doors and saying that “there is no reason to be closed”…"

"a young person was stabbed with a very large knife. It was an organised brawl of young people from what I understand.

Everyone here is OK. The police have it under control"

Another eyewitness said "I work in one of the shop, currently we closed our doors but the lady who works for the center management bang on the front door and yelled out ‘NO REASON TO BE SHUT’
